As of November, 2005, 5% of all the children in the UK have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Did we have this in the 1950s?
I don't think we did. But then we were allowed out all day and we had the woods and the fields and the back streets to exhaust ourselves in.
Nowadays, there isn't much of a green belt left, the Tories and New Labour have sold off most of the playing fields to the developers and the fear of the paedophile and the bullyboy (and girl) keeps a lot of kids indoors.
A bundle of energy perpetually in the house or the playground is going get on the grown ups nerves at some point. If you gave that bundle of energy the room to play in that we had half a century ago, I guarantee the ADHD problem would be halved.
As to the rest, check their blood for chemicals (not drugs, I'm talking about salt, sugar, "e" numbers, food additives and the like) and get rid of them.
Politicians will tell you that such measures are too difficult to apply.
I would say that they would be difficult to apply if you are beholden to big business and carrier bags stuffed full of fivers.
If you care about your country and its people, it wouldn't be difficult at all.
